Tons of iPad 3 rumors has been buzzing the web recently and the question without doubt is when will be the date of the new iPad 3 release.
In fact Apple has not yet announced the release date of new iPad 3, keeping it once more, secret as usual.
Apple is currently making 14 million to 15 million units iPads per quarter, according to DigiTimes. In January next year, Apple will drop the production to the rate of 4 million to 5 million units per quarter, in preparation for production of iPad 3.
According to iPad 3 rumors, the new tablet will feature Retina Display (2048x1536 pixels); 4G LTE; upgraded, A6 processor, better peripheral support; bigger cameras; thinner and lighter design.
The most recent rumor even suggested that the new iPad 3 will feature a transparent and rimless body. It also predicts the iPad 3 will weigh 0.6 pounds and store 16GB.
Other rumors predict the new iPad would be released between March and April, little before of the release of iPhone 5. But some also suggested that iPad 3 may arrive as early as February 2012 in memory of the birthday (Feb. 24) of its late co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs.
According to a report from Nvonews, the successor of iPad 2 could roll out in March next year, but Apple may be forced to release the next generation iPad earlier, probably in February. The same source said that Amazon's $199 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet, the up-coming Microsoft Windows 8 OS, Android's 4G LTE tablets could force Apple to roll out iPad 3 as soon as possible.
Of course Apple will be trying to come out with latest A6 processor with layering techniques that can result in a more powerful processor. The layering can compact the circuit’s design along with running the chip on very low power. As result it consumes less battery power.
The iPad 2 and the previous iPad has the same display. It is a 9.7-inch display with 1024 x 768 pixels. The display's resolution is good, according to rumors if Apple want to keep iPad ahead in the tablet race, iPad 3 should have the retina display.
Concluding with iPad 3 rumors,Apple has not yet confirmed whether it will actually release a 7.85-inch iPad, but if it does, it will a major shift from what the company's late co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs regarded. According to Jobs, any tablet smaller than 10 inches are “tweener” devices - too big to be a smartphone and too small to be a tablet.
According to DigiTimes, Apple will buy panes from LG Display and AU Optronics (AUO) and the manufacturers in the supply chain are " likely" to produce the iPad Mini from the end of the second quarter next year.
