iPad 3 Price Lower Than iPad 2?

Reports and web rumors predict that the iPad 3 price will  be same as the price of the previous iPad2. However, the iPad 2  will be discontinued at the iPad 3 start date.
It is actually unusual for Apple Company to launch products after products in a short time. The iPad 2 started  in spring 2011, but one report says that Apple will release the next generation of the new iPad sooner than the release date of the previous generation.

It is popular on the web to speculate on the iPad specifications, and the third tablet will not be an exception , the iPad will be launched in the coming three months of 2012. There are tons of speculation about the iPad 3 price, many say that will have same price as the previous release.

Some reports go even further predicting that the new iPad 3 won’t replace the iPad 2.The exact price of the iPad 3 is still unknown. Of course it  is certain, the new tablet will be improved in comparison with the iPad 2, the new iPad 3 will have improved cameras, faster and much more powerful processor, the famous Retina Display,Fingerprint proof, etc.

We all know that the current iPad 2 is not a cheap piece of tablet, prices start off from  499 USD and we have the right to think that if the sales increase the  price will decrease,we hope that would happen with the new iPad release.

However, we believe that you might be wrong to think that, looking  at the new features so much rumored  on the web. The new ipad release is expected to have - a new ultra-thin battery which will last even longer than its predecessor, it is reported to cost 30% more than the actual version, retina display will have twice as many pixels as the iPad 2.

These two cool new features alone seem enough to higher up the price of the new iPad 3 without counting other smaller features such as expandable memory, higher mega-pixel camera ,etc.

On the other side is the growing threat of cheaper tablets like Kinder and Androids, that is why Apple is working on lowering the cost of its iPads in order to be more competitive on the tablets market.

As DigiTimes reports:
"Apple is now more willing to adopt IC solutions from Taiwan-based IC design houses as it is adjusting the cost structure for iPad tablets in order to compete with an array of tablet PCs to be launched by rivals in the second half of 2011, commented the sources."

Based on  what DigiTimes reports in order to compete against rivals  starting from the second half of 2011,  the iPad 3 price will start from below the US$499 price tag.
